John Chilton's Company, 3rd Virginia Regiment. The Morrison and Chilton families were neighbors in VA. They both died on the Brandywine battlefield on 9/7/1777. Capt. Chilton's published diary mentions in a letter he wrote home prior to the battle, "Please thank Mr. Morrison for his kindness to the children" (meaning Capt. Chilton's children). The "Mr. Morrison" he mentions is either Andrew Morrison's father, Nathaniel, or one of Andrew's brothers. My 4th great grandfather, Andrew Morrison, was in Capt.
